The wooden boat association of north texas is an unincorporated social group...a volunteer association of people who are enthusiastic about antique and classic boating. we have over 100 members, most of whom hail from texas, but some of whom live in other states.. wood boat association of north texas Gary sebastain’s “wabi sabi” sailboat - the boat is a catspaw dinghy designed by joel white in 1978 as a bigger version of n. g. herreshoffs "columbia life boat" designed in 1899. the builder and year are unknown as it was found abandoned in the woods near lake granbury in 2016. it is 12' long 4'-5" beam. construction is double strip planked.. We are an association of enthusiasts with a shared passion for wooden boats. within that general definition our members represent a broad range of boats and special interests encompassing - boats ranging from 100 years old to those barely begun. boats powered by sail, steam, diesel, oars or paddles..
