gorilla glue wood boat
There are a number of glue threads on the wooden boat forum. here's a clip from a recent one: "fine woodworking just had a glue test. pretty amazing results ( at least to me). they tested plain pva (elmer's i think), titebond iii (apparently a waterproof pva), system three epoxy, and gorilla glue.. I am thinking using this gorilla glue to build my own wood row boat. without going to using west system epoxy i use for wood speargun. i will build it in old way use by boat builder years ago before fiberglass or waterproof glue came. has anyone use this glue for marine purpose. after all it say 100% waterproof.. Delamination of the glue from the surface of the wood is also apparent, possibly due to the natural oil content of the hardwoods used in exterior and marine plywood. some of the glue joints where the adhesive has filled small gaps, show a crumbling of the hardened glue, and in others the glue has softened to a toffee like mess..
gorilla glue wood boat Another glue you can try is gorilla glue. it is a one part polyurathane glue that is moisture sensitive, meaning that the amount of water in the air or on the wood will determine how fast it sets up. wear rubber gloves when using it though because it is a bear to get off..
